Centacare’s PACE Service offers a range of FREE workshops and seminars aimed at increasing awareness of mental health issues. We can deliver presentations on location or online via Zoom.
We generally only deliver presentations on request. If you would like PACE to deliver a presentation for your students, clients or staff please contact us to discuss this further.
Our current workshops include:
“Be BOLD – Break the Mould” – Positive Body Image and Self-esteem program for girls
Be BOLD – Break the Mould was developed by the PACE Team to promote positive body image and self-esteem in girls. Designed for girls in years 8 and 9, it is delivered over three 90 minute sessions in high schools. In the program students will learn:
- about the unrealistic standards of beauty promoted in mainstream and social media
- how to avoid unhelpful comparisons
- self-acceptance and how to celebrate their uniqueness
- how to develop a positive self-image
- how to build resilience and self-esteem
The program is delivered free of charge to high schools in South Australia.
Elephant in the Room-a group program for parents, carers and significant others of young people with an emerging mental health issues.
This program is based around education and designed to provide attendees with information and support on caring for and supporting a young person with mental health issues.

- What to do and how to respond to a crisis situation

Journey to Recovery from Anxiety
Have you wondered how can you tell the difference between normal fears and problem anxiety? This 90 minute presentation will explain the different signs and symptoms, the different types of anxiety disorders and how they present, an overview of strategies and treatment options, and how to assist people living with anxiety.

This could not be further from the truth, and eating disorders are a serious mental illness. People with OCD often feel frustrated and distressed about their need to act compulsively. When family members and friends are more informed about OCD, it is easier to be supportive and understanding. Managing Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression are common metal health issues, and most people will know someone struggling with one or both of these issues at some stage. This 90 minute presentation provides an overview of the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression, and the treatments and strategies which can be helpful in managing them.
Thriving in a crisis
In times of crisis it’s normal to feel worried, stressed and anxious, and the COVID-19 pandemic is
serious crisis. This 90 minute presentation discusses strategies for not only surviving, but thriving in a crisis.
