Mental Health Week starts on Sunday to promote social and emotional wellbeing.

This year, we are focusing on what keeps us mentally fit.

How do we build resilience, practise mindfulness and foster good thoughts and feelings?

Join us at the following events for a week of fun and awareness, starting this Sunday, October 9.

 

Monday, October 10

  • Youth Mental Health Family & Friends Info Night 

Location: Headspace Woodville, 888 Port Road, Woodville

Time: 6 – 7.30pm

Tuesday, October 11

Wednesday, October 12

  • Carnival in the North – ‘Mind Tools’

Theme: “Screwdriver – resources on social connections”.
Location: Elizabeth Civic Centre

Time: 10.30am – 1.30pm

Join us as we showcase the talents and achievements of people with mental illness in our community.  Come and experience live cooking demonstrations hosted by the Sprout Cooking School.  There will be mindfulness activities, interactive stalls, raffle prizes, food and entertainment.

Thursday, October 13

  • Festival of Now

Location: Light Square

Time: 10.30am – 3.00pm

The Festival of Now is back! A flagship event for Mental Health Week, the open air festival is a celebration of mental health and wellbeing and a chance to have a good time. Featuring live local bands, storytelling, drumming, comedy, yoga, circus skills, face painting, animals, art, MOSH opshop, health checks and NGO stalls, there is something for everyone. Monday, October 24

  • Veteran’s Wellbeing Event – ‘Social Connection’ resources on social inclusion and wellbeing’

Location: RSL Murray Bridge

Time: 10am – 3pm

This year’s Wellbeing Day hosted by the Murray Bridge RSL & Uniting Communities is themed around Social Connection.  Veterans, of all ages, and the community (including small school groups) are encouraged to visit displays from a variety of Not for Profit organisations to assist in social inclusion and wellbeing.

Friday, October 28 

  • Mental Health Expo – ‘Connecting to Community’
    Location: Murray Bridge Town Hall

Time: 10am – 3pm

Mental Health Expo – Murray Bridge – Held annually in Murray Bridge, the expo unites the community with guest speakers, entertainment, food, information and local community service providers showcasing their support. For more information, visit the event website
