Panic and Anxiety
The Support Towards Anxiety Recovery (STAR) groups are facilitated by mental health peer workers, they run for two hours and they include a group check-in as well as discussion/activity time to explore different aspects of mental well-being.
The groups are designed to be attended alongside the assistance of a mental health practitioner (psychologist, psychiatrist or counsellor) or as a means to maintain a level of recovery after treatment has occurred.
The groups are a safe space for people to connect with others who have experienced similar mental health conditions and to share their own strategies, triumphs and difficulties with one another. The group facilitators contribute with information, education and brief strategies to help with the understanding and management of anxiety. At a participant’s first group session they will receive a STAR workbook that contains helpful information and activities for mental-wellbeing.
- Wednesdays – Face to face (Western, Northern locations) – 10am – 12 noon
- Fridays – Face to face (Southern locations) – 10am – 12 noon
- Thursdays – Zoom (online) – 10am – 12 noon
