Stronger Families is a targeted intervention service that supports families with children aged 0-18 years, in their home.
The focus is on families with children where early child wellbeing or safety risk factors have been identified. We provide timely, individualised and culturally sensitive interventions to address challenges including social isolation, mental health, attachment difficulties, and the impact of trauma.

Families receive case management from a Family Intervention Worker. Health assessments and interventions from an allocated Clinical Nurse (excluding Limestone Coast) may also be arranged. Families may also be supported by a financial Advocate. Services include assessment, case management, practical and therapeutic in-home support and connection to community.
Who: Families with children aged 0-18 (including perinatal) experiencing a range of child well-being and/or safety risk factors. These may include: parenting skills and attachment difficulties; parent child conflict; household management and routines; social isolation; substance misuse; abuse and/or neglect; impact of trauma; grief and loss; depression and anxiety, and other mental health issues. Priority is provided to the following populations: Families with children within the first 1000 days, young parents (mothers under 20yo and fathers under 25yo), Aboriginal families.
How: Referrals to this Service are made by Department for Child Protection; DECD children’s centres; DECD child well-Being practitioners; CaFHS nurses and other non-government organisations. Department for Child Protection may refer however will be given lowest priority and should consider referral to a Family Preservation Service
Where: Stronger Families supports families living in metropolitan Adelaide, the Barossa, Riverland, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu, Murraylands and Limestone Coast.
