Innovative Community Action Networks (ICAN) provides holistic case management, identifying young people’s barriers and strengths, advocacy and support in accessing services within Centacare and in the broader community, maintain young people in education and connection to school. ICAN also offers accredited alternative learning options for young people aged 10-19 years who are disconnected from education or at risk of becoming so. The focus is on supporting young people to more successfully engage in their communities, and in learning that is offered flexibly and directed at their needs. The service is offered across the metropolitan area and in some regional locations.

Program details

Who: Young people 6-19 years of age with an exemption of up to 25 years of age for young women who are pregnant or parenting. Young persons who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream schooling.

Where: This service is offered across the Adelaide metropolitan area, Clare and Gawler districts.
