Counselling for children who have been affected by sexual abuse is a critical stage in the child dealing with what has happened to them.
The program offers counselling to children and their families and carers where children have been affected by sexual abuse.
Our counsellors help to rebuild the child and family’s sense of safety, wellbeing and optimism. Counselling takes place in a safe, secure and confidential environment – in our Elizabeth office or elsewhere if that is more appropriate.
Parents and carers are also offered support to deal with their own reactions to the abuse and to build their capacity to make sense of the child’s behavior. This is a key to children dealing with their situation.
